Window Restoration

Original wood windows help define a building’s character. We assess the wood, glazing, hardware, and existing finishes, then listen to what matters most to you—preserving original details, improving operation, or reducing drafts. Fitted repairs, renewed glazing, appropriate coatings, weather seals, and storm-window options can form part of a practical restoration plan. We explain what can be preserved, what needs repair, and how shop or on-site work can be phased around your home.

Wood & Glazing Repairs

Repair damaged sash and frame components, address localized decay with fitted wood repairs, and renew failed glazing. Preserve serviceable original glass and sound wood wherever practical.

Operation & Weather Seals

Restore sash movement and service pulleys, cords, chains, or hardware as needed. Improve weatherstripping and fit, and discuss storm windows to help reduce drafts while retaining your original windows.

Coatings & Project Planning

Choose appropriate primers, glazing putty, and traditional linseed or other suitable paint systems. We discuss preparation, shop versus site work, scheduling, and maintenance so the scope is clear before restoration begins.
